Written council questions in Amsterdam about the Resilt Noodhub

Resilt Noodhub

Written council questions have been submitted in Amsterdam about the Resilt Noodhub. Council member Erik Schmit (D66) asks the city executive whether a Noodhub could also be of value in Amsterdam for businesses, residents and vital services.

The questions build on the growing attention for resilience and on the first Noodhub, which opened earlier in Utrecht. Erik Schmit is also active in the Chief Resilience Officers Roundtable, the network in which professionals work together on the resilience of organizations and areas.

What the questions cover

The city executive is asked, among other things:

  • whether it is familiar with the concept of the Resilt Noodhub and the recently opened first Noodhub in the Netherlands;
  • how it assesses the added value of a Noodhub for the resilience of Amsterdam businesses, residents and vital services;
  • whether it is willing to explore, together with business associations, companies and organizations such as Resilt, whether a similar Noodhub can be realized in Amsterdam;
  • which existing municipal programs in the areas of crisis management, economic resilience, cybersecurity and grid congestion could be involved;
  • whether it sees opportunities for a pilot, with locations not only in the city center but also in Zuidoost, Noord and Nieuw-West;
  • whether existing resident initiatives and networks, such as the Huis van Actief Burgerschap, can be used in the process.

In total, this concerns a series of questions to the city executive. The full set can be read on the city council's website.

We are pleased with this attention. It provides a good basis for exploring locally whether a Noodhub could be of value for an Amsterdam area. On October 2 we are organizing a meeting about this in Utrecht.
