Resilt – From Resource to Wesource
Domains and expertise

Domains

Resilt has expertise across a range of domains, which we organise into four clusters: Living, Functioning, Connecting and Realising. Together they cover what a household, an organisation and an area need to keep going. See what we can do within your domain.

Cluster 1 of 4

Living

What you need to get through the day healthy and fed. When something fails here, time is counted in hours, not days.

Healthcare

General practice, pharmacies, emergency care and public health services run on power, water, IT and staff. When services fail or demand surges, continuity of care is immediately under pressure, and vulnerable people notice it first. We help care institutions map their critical dependencies and agree with the area on what keeps running.

Water and hygiene

Drinking water, sanitation and sewerage are the quietest services you have, until they stop. A burst main, a boil-water advisory or a cloudburst hits households, hospitality, care and schools at the same time. We map what an area needs to get through an interruption, and organise the arrangements between the water company, the municipality and users.

Food

Supermarkets, wholesalers and hospitality depend on transport, refrigeration and payment systems. During an outage the shelves empty faster than most people expect, and without card payments a shop sells nothing at all. We help entrepreneurs and areas decide what is genuinely critical and how to keep supply and sales going.

Cluster 2 of 4

Functioning

The foundation under daily life: a roof over your head, energy in the house and money you can spend.

Energy

Electricity, heat and fuel are the services almost every other domain leans on. Grid congestion, an outage or a heat peak works straight through into water, IT, payments and care. We make those dependencies visible and help organisations and areas choose the measures that deliver most.

Housing

A home has to protect against cold, heat, water and fire, and stay habitable when installations fail. Housing associations, owners' associations, municipalities and residents can do a great deal about that together, provided it is clear where the vulnerabilities sit and who picks up what.

Money and finances

Card payments, banking apps and cash machines are the most visible vulnerability for households and entrepreneurs alike: if paying does not work, everything stops. We help determine which fallback options are realistic, for a household, a shopping street or an entire area.

Cluster 3 of 4

Connecting

What brings people, goods and information together, and who makes sure that keeps working.

Mobility

Walking, cycling, public transport and deliveries determine whether people reach work, school and care, and whether goods arrive. Weather, an outage or a road closure takes that out faster than expected. We look per area at which routes and connections are critical and what you can arrange in advance.

IT and telecom

Telecom, internet and crisis information are the nerves of an area. Cyber incidents, congestion or a power cut take down not only systems, but also the ability to reach each other and to know what is going on. We help organisations get their digital dependencies and fallback options in order.

Government and safety

Municipalities, provinces, safety regions and emergency services carry the public side of resilience. They govern an area, inform a population and need partners who take part. We work area by area: from a Resilience Day that gathers the agenda to a Noodhub that carries it out.

Cluster 4 of 4

Realising

What allows a society to learn, to understand and to imagine how things could be different.

Education, culture and science

Schools, cultural institutions and knowledge institutions keep a society learning. They are junctions in a neighbourhood where many people gather every day, and at the same time they depend on the same services as everyone else. This is where we are developing The resilient school and where we work with knowledge institutions on the evidence behind our approach.
